The Configuration menu contains the administrative controls for a WebReports installation. Use it to set up email delivery, review application database storage, maintain registration and tenant licenses, change global settings, customize branding, authorize integrations, and manage extensions.
Use Configuration during initial setup and when an operational requirement changes—for example, when moving to a new mail provider, reviewing report retention, or granting an integration access. Report publishing, connections, users, roles, and assignments are managed in the Management area.
Available options depend on the installed WebReports version, license, and your permissions. Screenshots illustrate the interface in WebReports 2026.10.12.3.
Open Configuration
- Sign in to WebReports with an administrator account.
- Expand Configuration in the left navigation.
- Select the configuration page you want to manage.

Set up SMTP delivery for application messages and account workflows. Save with Update, then use Send Test Email to verify delivery. See Creating an Email Profile in WebReports.

Microsoft Graph email
Use Microsoft Graph when your organization sends application email through Microsoft 365. Prepare the Entra application and mailbox permissions before entering the Graph fields in WebReports. See Setting Up Microsoft Graph Email for WebReports.

Database
Review application database storage before planning maintenance. The manual shrink and import actions change database state and should be planned with the database administrator. See Database Maintenance.

Registration
Review the installation’s registration status and maintain its company licensing information and registration contact. Submit changes with Update, then check the returned status. See WebReports Registration.

Tenants
Register and maintain tenant licenses and their associated email domains in a licensed multitenant deployment. Select a tenant row before editing or deleting it. See Managing Tenants in WebReports.

Settings
Change global behavior such as processing, retention, notifications, statistics, and integrations. Use each information icon for field help and select Save after making changes. See Configuring Application Settings in WebReports.

Branding
Apply the organization’s visual identity using colors, header text, images, and favicons. Review the previews and select Save to apply the selections. See Customize Branding in WebReports.

API Keys
Authorize Report Designer or a Management API client with a purpose-specific key. Select the required user or permissions, restrict allowed hosts, and securely store the generated secret. See Managing API Keys in WebReports.

Extensions
Review discovered packages on Installed and licensed packages on Available. Confirm compatibility and follow the extension-specific instructions before installation. See Extensions Overview.

Apply and verify changes
- Open the relevant page and review its current values. Record environment-specific values before changing them.
- Use the page’s Update or Save action as described in its guide. Opening a page or editing a field does not by itself verify the configuration.
- Verify the affected feature: send a test email, inspect a report’s expiration, check registration status, or test the authorized integration.
Do not use Restore Defaults, Shrink Database, import, or deletion actions to test navigation. These actions change configuration or application data.
