WebReports provides separate retention settings for completed reports and scheduler execution history. Administrators can adjust these settings based on their organization’s storage, auditing, and troubleshooting requirements.
Accessing the retention settings
- Select Configuration from the navigation menu.
- Select Settings.
- Locate Reports options.
- Find the following settings:
- Report Default Retention
- Remove Scheduler History Days
Report Default Retention
Report Default Retention determines the default number of days completed reports remain available before they are automatically removed.
WebReports uses this value to calculate the expiration date for completed reports. The expiration date can be viewed on the Completed page.
The default retention period is 3 days.
Shorter retention periods help reduce storage growth, while longer retention periods keep completed reports available longer.
Important: Reducing this value may cause completed reports to be removed sooner than users expect.
Remove Scheduler History Days
Remove Scheduler History Days determines how many days scheduler execution records are retained. This includes successful, failed, and other scheduler activity records.
The default retention period is 60 days.
Shorter retention periods help control database growth. Longer retention periods preserve more scheduler history for auditing and troubleshooting.
Important: Reducing this value may remove older scheduler history sooner than expected.
Understanding the difference
| Setting | Controls |
|---|---|
| Report Default Retention | How long completed report output remains available |
| Remove Scheduler History Days | How long scheduler execution history and activity records are retained |
Changing one setting does not affect the type of information controlled by the other.
