Scheduler Overview

Use the VDM Scheduler to create Jobs, schedule appointments, run Jobs on demand, and review execution activity.

The Scheduler workflow uses three main components:

Job — Defines the Views and executions to process.
Calendar — Defines when scheduled Jobs run.
Master Job — Runs a group of Jobs on demand.

Use Logs to review Job execution progress and Scheduler Service activity.

Calendar

Use Calendar to create and manage scheduled appointments.

An appointment specifies when its assigned Jobs should run. Appointments can run once or repeat on a recurring schedule.

Job

Use Job to create and edit the Jobs used by scheduled appointments or Master Jobs.

A Job contains the Views to process and the executions that define how those Views run.

The Job ribbon groups its controls into four sections:

Options

Create a new Job, open an existing Job, or save changes. Use Save As to save a separate copy.

The Import Legacy AS Jobs option supports legacy Auto Scheduler Jobs.

Job Functions

The Email button provides access to Job email settings.

View

Use Add to include a View in the Job. Use Remove to remove the selected View.

Executions

Configure the executions associated with a View:

Add (Wizard) — Create an execution using the wizard.
Edit (Wizard) — Update the selected execution using the wizard.
Add — Add an execution for manual configuration.
Bulk Creation — Create multiple executions using data returned by a View.
Copy — Copy the selected execution.
Remove — Remove the selected execution.

Master Job

Use Master Job to run a group of Scheduler Jobs without waiting for a scheduled appointment.

Logs

Select Logs from the bottom navigation to review Scheduler activity.

Application Logs shows Job and execution activity, including View processing and export results.
Service Logs shows Scheduler Service activity, including appointment checks and evaluation details.

Select a date and time range, then select Refresh to load the entries for that period. Review the newest Log Time entries when checking current activity.
