Change ViewPath

The ViewPath property stores the full path to each source View used in a VoV, including the filename and .vdm extension.

If a source View is moved to a different folder or location, update the ViewPath so the VoV can continue to locate and use that View.

When to Change ViewPath

You may need to update the ViewPath when:

• A source View has been moved to another folder
• The folder structure containing the source Views has changed
• A VoV is copied to another environment where the source Views are stored in a different location

After updating the ViewPath, rebuild and save the VoV.

Steps to Change ViewPath

Step 1: Open the VoV Builder

Open the VoV Builder from VDM.

Step 2: Open the VoV

Open the VoV that contains the source View whose path needs to be updated.

Step 3: Select the Source View

Select the source View that needs its path updated.

The settings for the selected View are displayed in the VoV Builder.

Step 4: Update the ViewPath

Locate the ViewPath property and enter the full path to the source View, including the filename and .vdm extension.

Tip: Browse to the source View in File Explorer and copy its full file path. If you copy the folder path, append a backslash and the View's filename, including the .vdm extension, before entering it in ViewPath.

Step 5: Rebuild the VoV

Select Rebuild VoV.

Rebuilding refreshes the VoV using the source Views at their updated locations.

Step 6: Save the VoV

Select Save to save the updated VoV.

Verify the Updated VoV

After saving:

1. Open the updated VoV in VDM.
2. Run the VoV.
3. Confirm that the source Views are found and the expected results are returned.

If additional source Views have been moved, repeat the process for each ViewPath that needs to be updated.
