WebReports includes built-in roles that control the features and actions available to users. Administrators can also create additional roles to organize users and assign report access.
Default roles
WebReports includes the following default roles:
- Admin
- API
- Bridgit Analysis
- Publisher
- Queue
- RoleAdmin
- Scheduler
- User
Note: The detailed permissions for the API and Bridgit Analysis roles are still being verified.
Important information about roles
- A user can be assigned multiple roles.
- When a user has multiple roles, the user receives the combined permissions and report access provided by those roles.
- Report access depends on the reports assigned to each role.
- Additional roles can be created to provide users with access to specific reports.
- The Admin role provides the highest level of access in WebReports.
- A user with the Scheduler role can schedule only reports available through the user’s assigned roles.
- Queue for Role requires both the Queue and RoleAdmin roles.
For example, a user assigned both the User and Scheduler roles receives the permissions and report access provided by both roles.
Admin
The Admin role provides the highest level of access in WebReports.
Users assigned this role can:
- Add, edit, and remove users.
- Assign, manage, and delete reports.
- Execute, download, queue, download for a role, and queue for a role all available reports.
- View parameters for completed reports.
- View, download, and re-execute completed reports.
- Use the Scheduler.
- Create and manage connection profiles.
- Configure the email profile.
- Access registration settings.
- View WebReports, execution, and other available logs.
API
The API role is a built-in WebReports role associated with API functionality.
Detailed permissions for this role will be added after technical verification.
Bridgit Analysis
The Bridgit Analysis role is a built-in WebReports role associated with Bridgit Analysis functionality.
Detailed permissions for this role will be added after technical verification.
Publisher
The Publisher role allows users to connect through VDM and publish reports to WebReports.
Users assigned this role can:
- Execute and download available reports assigned to the Publisher role.
- View parameters for completed reports.
- View and download completed reports.
Queue
The Queue role allows users to queue reports.
Users assigned this role can:
- Execute, download, and queue available reports.
- View parameters for completed reports assigned to the Queue role.
- View, download, and rerun completed reports assigned to the Queue role.
RoleAdmin
The RoleAdmin role allows users to download and queue reports for roles.
Users assigned this role can:
- Execute and download reports assigned to the RoleAdmin role.
- Download reports for a role.
- Queue reports for a role when the user also has the Queue role.
- View parameters for completed reports.
- Download completed reports.
Scheduler
The Scheduler role allows users to automate report execution through the Scheduler.
Users assigned this role can:
- Execute and download reports assigned to the Scheduler role.
- View parameters for completed reports assigned to the Scheduler role.
- View and download completed reports assigned to the Scheduler role.
- Create scheduled jobs for reports available through their assigned roles.
User
The User role provides basic access to assigned reports.
Users assigned this role can:
- Execute and download reports assigned to the User role.
- View parameters for completed reports assigned to the User role.
- View and download completed reports assigned to the User role.
