The Management section contains the administrative tools used to manage WebReports users, access, report definitions, connections, and system activity.
The options available to you may vary based on your assigned WebReports roles and permissions.
Open the Management section
- Sign in to WebReports.
- Select Management from the navigation menu.
- Select the page you want to manage.
The Management section contains the following pages:
Users
Use Users to manage WebReports user accounts and review each user’s report access.
From this page, authorized users can:
- Add, edit, and delete users.
- Assign roles to users.
- Assign defined fields and values.
- Assign publisher connection profiles.
- Review a user’s assigned reports, connections, report types, access source, and expiration period.
Roles
Use Roles to organize users and control report access.
From this page, authorized users can:
- Create and delete roles.
- Add or remove users from a role.
- View the number of users and report assignments associated with each role.
- Review the reports available through a selected role.
Report Definitions
Use Report Definitions to manage information associated with reports available in WebReports.
From this page, authorized users can:
- Search for reports.
- Edit a report’s category and description.
- Review assignment and storage counts.
- Delete report definitions when appropriate.
Assignments
Use Assignments to control which roles can access reports.
Assignments connect a:
- Report
- Connection
- Report type
- Role
- Report expiration period
Individual assignments can be expanded, selected, and deleted from this page.
Defined Fields
Use Defined Fields to manage reusable values that can be assigned to individual users.
Each defined field contains:
- A display name
- A query identifier
- A description
Defined fields can be added, edited, deleted, and assigned through a user’s account settings.
Connections
Use Connections to manage the data connection profiles available to WebReports.
From this page, authorized users can:
- Add connection profiles.
- Edit existing connection profiles.
- Delete connection profiles.
- Create private connection profiles.
- Review connection types, databases, DSNs, connectors, and private status.
Connection settings and required information vary by database and connection type.
Statistics
Use Statistics to monitor manual and scheduled report activity on the WebReports instance.
The Overview tab displays workload history and summary information for:
- Queue and Download
- In-Memory reports
- Scheduled reports
The Activity tab displays individual report activity, including its connection, user, report type, workload, status, start and end times, duration, dataset size, and CPU use.
Host and process filters can be used to review activity for a specific WebReports process.
Configuration options
Email, Database, Registration, Tenants, Settings, Branding, and API Keys are located under Configuration. These options are no longer part of the Management section.
