Article Goal
Learn how to use the Queue for Role feature in WebReports to execute reports and make completed results available to users assigned to a specific role.
Why Use Queue for Role?
The Queue for Role feature functions similarly to the standard Queue option, with one important difference: completed report results are shared with users assigned to the selected role.
This allows teams to access the same completed report without requiring multiple executions of the same report.
Tip: Use Queue for Role when multiple users need access to the same completed report results.
Queue vs Queue for Role
| Feature | Queue | Queue for Role |
|---|---|---|
| Available to the user who executes the report | Yes | Yes |
| Shared with other users | No | Yes |
| Available to a specific role | No | Yes |
| Stored on the Completed page | Yes | Yes |
| Requires multiple executions for multiple users | Yes | No |
Where Can You Use Queue for Role?
The Queue for Role option is available from the Available Reports page within the Reports section of WebReports.
How to Use Queue for Role

If the report contains parameters, enter the required values when prompted.
Step 5: Confirm Execution
A notification will appear when the report has been successfully submitted for processing.
Step 6: Open the Completed Page
Navigate to:
Reports → Completed
Step 7: Access the Completed Report
Once processing is complete, users assigned to the selected role can access the completed report.
Users can:
- View report results
- Review report parameters
- Re-execute the report (if permitted)
- Export the report in supported formats
For additional information, see Working with Completed Reports in WebReports.
Example
A manager queues a sales report using Queue for Role and selects the Sales Managers role.
When processing completes, all users assigned to the Sales Managers role can access the completed report without needing to execute it individually.
Best Practices
- Use Queue for Role when the same report results need to be shared with multiple users.
- Verify the selected role before queueing the report.
- Review parameter selections carefully before execution.
- Use standard Queue when report access should remain limited to the user executing the report.
Article Summary
The Queue for Role feature allows users to execute a report and share the completed results with all users assigned to a specific role. This reduces duplicate report executions, improves consistency, and provides controlled access to completed report results.
