Article Goal
Learn how to execute a report and view results directly within WebReports using the available output options.
What is Report Execution?
WebReports allows users to execute reports directly from the Available Reports page and view results within the browser.
Depending on how the report was designed, one or more of the following output options may be available:
- Detail Grid
- Summary Grid
- Finished Report
- Visualize
These output options allow users to review report results without downloading or exporting the report.
Available Output Types
Detail Grid
Displays detailed report results at the record level.
Use Detail Grid when you need to review individual records or transactions returned by the report.
Summary Grid
Displays summarized or grouped report results.
Use Summary Grid when you want to review totals, counts, or aggregated data.
Finished Report
Displays the finished report output as designed by the report developer.
Use Finished Report when you want to view the report in its final presentation format.
Visualize
Displays charts, dashboards, and visual report elements.
Use Visualize when graphical analysis of the report data is preferred.

For example, a user may:
- Execute the report using Detail Grid.
- Review the detailed results.
- Switch to Summary Grid.
- Open the Visualize view.
This allows users to analyze the same report data in different formats.
Viewing Results vs Downloading Reports
Viewing report results is different from downloading or queueing a report.
| Action | Purpose |
|---|---|
| View Results | Review report output directly in the browser. |
| Download | Generate and export a specific file format. |
| Queue | Execute the report and store the results for later review or export. |
