Overview
Report assignments determine which roles have access to reports within WebReports.
Users inherit report access through the roles assigned to their account. Administrators can create report assignments from the Assigned Reports section of the Users page.
A single assignment can be used to assign one report or multiple reports to a role.
Prerequisites
Before assigning reports to roles:
- The role must already exist.
- The report must already exist in WebReports.
- The connection profile must already be configured.
- The administrator must have access to the Users page.
Accessing Report Assignments
- Log in to WebReports using an account with administrative privileges.
- Navigate to Management → Users.
- Locate the Assigned Reports section.
- Select Add.
The Add Report Assignment window opens.

Creating Report Assignments
To create a report assignment:
- Select one or more reports.
- Select a connection profile.
- Select a role.
- Select a report type.
- Enter the number of expiration days.
- Select Add Assignments.
Once the assignment is created, users assigned to the selected role inherit access to the assigned reports.

Assignment Fields
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Reports | One or more reports to assign to a role. |
| Connection | Connection profile associated with the report assignment. |
| Role | Role that will receive access to the selected reports. |
| Type | Report execution type, such as Finished Report, Visualize, or Detail Grid. |
| Number of Expiration Days | Number of days before the report assignment expires. |

Assigning a Single Report
To assign a single report:
- Open the Add Report Assignment window.
- Select a report.
- Configure the connection profile.
- Select a role.
- Select a report type.
- Enter the number of expiration days.
- Select Add Assignments.
The selected report is assigned to the selected role.
Assigning Multiple Reports
Multiple reports can be assigned during a single operation.
To assign multiple reports:
- Open the Add Report Assignment window.
- Select multiple reports from the report list.
- Configure the connection profile.
- Select a role.
- Select a report type.
- Enter the number of expiration days.
- Select Add Assignments.
All selected reports will be assigned using the same configuration settings.
Note: Assignment settings are applied to every report selected during the assignment process.

Report Assignment Types
The available report types may vary depending on the report configuration.
Common report types include:
- Finished Report
- Visualize
- Detail Grid
- Summary Grid
The selected type determines how users access and interact with the report.
Verifying Report Assignments
After creating an assignment:
- Return to the Assigned Reports section.
- Review the assignment grid.
- Confirm the report appears with the expected:
- Connection Name
- Type
- Role
- Expiration Value
Assignments become available immediately to users who belong to the assigned role.
