In this article, we provide details and examples of creating a WebReports connection profile within VDM.
Why Create A WebReports Connection Profile?
The WebReports Connection Type in VDM enables communication with a Connection Profile in your WebReports environment. It also provides access to features such as User Defined Fields (UDFs) for creating and deploying reports.
Where Can You Create A WebReports Connection Profile?
You can create a WebReports connection profile by selecting the Database tab in the main ribbon bar of VDM.

Steps To Create A WebReports Connection Profile.
Note: The setup of your connection profile will differ based on the URL, WRXValue, Username, API Key, etc. Additionally, the user must be assigned the Publisher role in WebReports.
1. Select the "Database" tab located in the main ribbon bar of VDM.
2. Click New.
3. Choose the WebReports connection type.
Please ensure that you enable the prefix for the TO/Schema Name if your database requires it.
4. Enter your WebReports URL.
5. Enter your WebReports Username and Password.
To use an API Key for this connection, check the "Use API Key" box. This will update the connection settings to use an API Key. If you do not have any API Keys for WebReports, please refer to the article titled "Create a WebReports API Key".
6. Enter your WebReports Value / WRXValue. This value is defined by your WebReports administrator in the appsettings.json file.
7. Click Refresh List and then select your Connection Profile.
Important Notes: If you have not yet set up your Connection Profile in WebReports, click here. If the WebReports user has not been assigned any connections, the Connection Profile list will be empty. To add a user to a connection profile, please see step 6 in the article titled "Edit Users".
8. Enter a Profile Name for the connection (This name must be unique).
