32-bit vs 64-bit ODBC Driver Setup
In this article we cover setting up the ODBC driver and the differences with 32-bit and 64-bit.
When setting up your workstation's ODBC driver it is important to distinguish between the 32-bit and 64-bit driver. Since ODBC driver configurations vary from one provider to the next. Please contact your Database Provider for more information on how to properly install and configure your ODBC driver and DSN.
IMPORTANT NOTE: V10 only supports 64-bit.
Here is an important tip on configuring and maintaining your drivers:
32-bit Drivers on 64-bit workstations
When setting up a DSN with a 32-bit driver on a 64-bit workstation, using the Windows ODBC Manager (odbcad32.exe), use C:\Windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe.
64-bit Drivers on 64-bit workstations
When setting up a DSN with a 64-bit driver on a 64-bit workstation, using the Windows ODBC Manager (odbcad32.exe), use C:\Windows\system32\odbcad32.exe.
Please note: BridgeWorks does not provide support for installing and configuring ODBC drivers.
