What’s New & Improved
This release includes improvements to WebReports usability and reporting functionality. Scheduled Job Names Added to Activity Logs, Schedule Subjects Added to Logs and Completed Reports, Improved Scheduler Control for Multi-Host Deployments, WebReports Data Migration, Improved Assistant Response Content Protection, Improved API Token Validation, Improved API Key Authorization Controls, Improved Protection for Stored Credentials and Report Data, More Secure Branding Upload Handling, Updated Third-Party Dependencies, Improved Authentication Abuse Protections, and Connection Selection for Dynamic Queries have been updated to improve clarity, configuration, and day-to-day report workflows.
Scheduled Job Names Added to Activity Logs (Task 1946)
WebReports activity logs now identify the scheduled job associated with each entry. Administrators can quickly distinguish activity from similarly timed schedules, reducing the time needed to investigate a failed run or confirm that a job completed as expected.
Schedule Subjects Added to Logs and Completed Reports (Task 1947)
Schedule subjects are now shown in activity logs and in the Completed Reports grid. This provides a clearer description of each scheduled report and makes it easier to find, filter, group, and review completed work by its business purpose.
Improved Scheduler Control for Multi-Host Deployments (Task 1951)
WebReports now provides improved control of scheduled-report processing in multi-host backend deployments. Administrators can better direct which host processes schedules, helping prevent duplicate runs, conflicting activity, and inconsistent results as deployments scale.
WebReports Data Migration (Task 1952)
WebReports now includes a data-migration option for moving an existing WebReports environment to a new server. The guided process supports SQL Server and MySQL source and destination combinations, lets administrators choose the information to move—including users, roles, reports, assignments, connection profiles, and stored data—and provides progress status and logging throughout the migration.
Improved Assistant Response Content Protection (Task 1954)
WebReports now applies stronger safeguards when displaying assistant responses. This helps protect users from unsafe content in rendered chat messages while preserving the usefulness of assistant-provided guidance.
Improved API Token Validation (Task 1955)
Strengthened validation of authentication tokens used by the standalone API, including expiration handling where the API is deployed. These improvements help ensure access remains limited to valid, current credentials.
Improved API Key Authorization Controls (Task 1956)
Enhanced API key authorization controls to better align access with the operations an integration is permitted to perform. This gives administrators a stronger foundation for connecting external systems while maintaining appropriate access boundaries.
Improved Protection for Stored Credentials and Report Data (Task 1957)
Improved the protection of stored connection credentials and report data as part of ongoing WebReports security hardening. The update strengthens safeguards for sensitive information used by configured connections and report storage.
More Secure Branding Upload Handling (Task 1958)
Strengthened validation and handling of uploaded branding assets to provide a safer administration experience. Administrators can continue to customize WebReports branding with improved safeguards around uploaded files.
Updated Third-Party Dependencies (Task 1959)
Updated third-party components as part of routine dependency maintenance and security hardening. Keeping these components current helps maintain a dependable and well-supported WebReports installation.
Improved Authentication Abuse Protections (Task 1961)
Strengthened protections around authentication workflows to help reduce the risk of repeated unauthorized sign-in attempts. These improvements add resilience to sign-in and account-recovery processes without changing normal user access.
Connection Selection for Dynamic Queries (Task 1962)
Dynamic Queries can now specify which connection to use, providing more control when reports work with multiple configured connections. This makes it easier to design a query for the intended data source and supports more flexible reporting configurations.
Bug Fixes
-
Scheduled Report Notification Recipients Are Preserved (Bug 1948)
Resolved an issue where notification email recipients could be cleared after canceling an edit to a scheduled report. Notification settings are now retained unless the user intentionally changes them. -
Encrypted Parameters Migrate Correctly (Bug 1953)
Resolved an issue that could prevent encrypted parameters from being migrated correctly when moving WebReports data to a new environment. Reports that depend on protected parameter values can now be transferred more reliably during a migration.
