Article Goal
Learn how to access and manage the Configuration page in WebReports.
What is the Configuration Page?
The Configuration page contains application-level settings that control how WebReports operates. These settings allow administrators to configure report processing, scheduling, security, notifications, logging, and other system-wide functionality.
Changes made within the Configuration page affect the entire WebReports application and may require the application to be restarted before the changes take effect.
Accessing Configuration
- Sign in to WebReports with an account that has administrative permissions.
- Select Management from the navigation menu.
- Click Configuration.
Understanding the Configuration Sections
The Configuration page is divided into several sections that control different areas of WebReports.
| Section | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Reports Options | Controls report retention, session settings, scripting options, and report cleanup behavior. |
| Queue and Threads | Controls how many reports can be processed simultaneously and how many requests can be queued for execution. |
| Bridgit AI | Configures the Bridgit AI integration used within WebReports. |
| Database Maintenance | Configures database size notifications and maintenance alerts. |
| Application Maintenance | Configures application startup notifications and administrative alerts. |
| Logging Cleanup Options | Controls log retention and automated log cleanup behavior. |
| CORS Options | Configures allowed external hosts for Cross-Origin Resource Sharing (CORS). |
| IFRAME Options | Configures hosts that are allowed to embed WebReports within an iframe. |
Saving Configuration Changes
After modifying a setting:
- Click Save at the bottom of the Configuration page.
- Review the change to ensure it was saved successfully.
Note: Some configuration changes may require the WebReports application to be restarted before the new settings become active.
Best Practices
- Only administrators should modify Configuration settings.
- Document configuration changes before applying them in production environments.
- Test significant configuration changes in a non-production environment whenever possible.
- Review queue and thread settings carefully before increasing processing capacity.
