Purpose
This article explains how to configure the Email Analysis Timeout setting for scheduled jobs in VDM.
Overview
The Email Analysis Timeout setting determines how long VDM will wait for a report to complete before terminating the process.
Large datasets, complex reports, or long-running jobs may require a higher timeout value than the default configuration.
If the timeout is reached before the report completes, email delivery may fail and the scheduled job may not finish processing.
Updating the Timeout
- Open VDM.
- Navigate to Scheduler → Jobs.
- Open the desired job.
- Select the Execution Job.
- Locate the Email Setup section within the Properties panel.
- Under Analysis, locate the Timeout setting.
- Enter the desired timeout value.
Recommended: 120 minutes or longer for large or complex reports.
Best Practices
- Set the timeout higher than the expected report runtime.
- Review timeout settings when scheduling large reports.
- Increase timeout values for jobs that process large datasets or generate complex outputs.
- Monitor long-running jobs after making configuration changes.
Additional Information
The Email Analysis Timeout setting only affects email-triggered processes. Jobs with insufficient timeout values may terminate before email delivery occurs.
