If the BridgeWorks Scheduler Service will not start, the issue may be related to the Windows account configured to run the service.
A common cause is an expired or changed password for the account assigned to the Scheduler Service.
Open Windows Services
- Open Windows Services.
- Locate the Scheduler Service for your installed BridgeWorks product.
- Right-click the service.
- Select Properties.
Note: Depending on your installation, you may need to look for the BridgeWorks VDM Scheduler Service, Analytics Scheduler Service, or Ontario Reports Scheduler Service. Use the service that matches your installed product.
Check the Log On Account
- In the service Properties window, select the Log On tab.
- Confirm that This account is selected if the service is configured to run under a Windows account.
- Verify that the correct account is listed.
- If the account password has changed or expired, enter the current password in:
- Password
- Confirm password
- Select Apply.
- Select OK.
Log On settings for the BridgeWorks VDM Scheduler Service.
Start the Scheduler Service
After updating the credentials:
- Return to Windows Services.
- Right-click the Scheduler Service.
- Select Start.
- Confirm that the service starts successfully.
If the service starts, the account credentials were likely the cause of the issue.
If the Service Still Does Not Start
If the Scheduler Service still fails to start:
- Confirm the Windows account is active.
- Confirm the password is correct.
- Verify that the account has the permissions required to run the service.
- Review the Windows Event Logs and BridgeWorks logs for additional errors.
- Contact BridgeWorks Support if the issue continues.
