In this article we cover the installation and setup for Internet Information Services (IIS).
Where Do You Install Internet Information Services IIS?
The installation for IIS can be done using Server Manager. Search for Server Manager in the search bar.
Steps To Install & Setup Internet Information Services (IIS).
1. Open Server Manager.
2. Select Add roles and features.
3. Select Role-based or feature-based installation and click next.
4. Select the server to install the role on (generally will be the server being accessed) and click next.
5. Enable the Role for Web Server (IIS), then click next.
6. Click Add Features.
7. Once Web Server (IIS) is enabled, click next. For Windows Authentication see below.
Windows Authentication Installation
Expand Web Server (IIS) > Web Server> Security, then enable Windows Authentication
8. Leave the defaults selected and click Next on the Features page.
9. Click Next on the Web Server Role (IIS) page.
10. On the Role Services page, leave the defaults selected and click next.
11. On the Confirmation page, click Install.
12. Once the installation is complete, click Close.
