What’s New & Improved
This release includes improvements to VDM usability and reporting functionality. Automatic Pivot Column Sizing, Reusable Variable Filter Library, Clearer View Parameter Settings, and Connection Selection for Dynamic Queries have been updated to improve clarity, configuration, and day-to-day report workflows.
Automatic Pivot Column Sizing (Task 1745)
Visualize Pivot columns can now automatically size to their content. This helps keep pivot results readable, reduces unnecessary text wrapping, and limits the need for manual column-width adjustments when working with a View.
Reusable Variable Filter Library (Task 1949)
VDM now includes a local library for reusable variable filters. Users can save a commonly used filter, browse available filters when creating a View, and add a selected filter directly to that View. This reduces repeated setup work and helps keep report filtering consistent.
Clearer View Parameter Settings (Task 1950)
The Parameters area in the View Designer now labels its settings panel as View Parameter Properties. The clearer name helps users recognize that the panel contains settings for the selected parameter and distinguishes it from other property panels in VDM.
Connection Selection for Dynamic Queries (Task 1963)
Dynamic Queries can now specify which connection to use. This gives report designers more control when working with multiple configured connections and makes it easier to direct a query to the intended data source.
Bug Fixes
-
Improved ODBC Schema Support in WebReports (Bug 1965)
Resolved an issue that could prevent WebReports from retrieving schema information through standard ODBC connections. ODBC-backed reports can now be configured and run more reliably.
