The Quick Launch Buttons at the top of VDM provide shortcuts to commonly used View, export, troubleshooting, Scheduler, and application tools.
Use these buttons to quickly access frequently used actions without navigating through the main ribbons.
Quick Launch Buttons displayed at the top of the VDM interface.
View Management
Use these buttons to create, open, and manage Views.
- New — Creates a new View.
- Open — Opens an existing View.
- Recent — Displays recently opened Views.
- Save — Saves the currently open View.
- Save As — Saves the current View with a different name.
Running and Exporting
These buttons are used to run the current View and export its results.
- Run View — Runs the currently open View.
- Export To — Exports available View results, including Details, Summary, Chart, or Pivot.
View Information and Utilities
These shortcuts provide access to View information, troubleshooting tools, and other commonly used options.
- Inspect View Information — Displays information and properties for the current View.
- Open Current View's Directory — Opens the folder containing the current View file.
- View SQL Query — Displays the SQL query generated by the View.
- Select Top Records — Limits the number of records returned using a Top X value. This option is not supported by all databases.

Replace Numeric Nulls — Controls whether numeric null values are replaced with
0or remain null. - Scheduler Setup — Opens Scheduler setup for configuring automated View execution.
- Clear Grid Formatting — Removes custom formatting from the selected Data Grid.
Ask Bridgit
Use Ask Bridgit to open the Bridgit AI chat window directly from VDM.
Note: Bridgit AI availability depends on your VDM configuration and licensing.
Appearance and Quick Launch Layout
The Quick Launch area also contains options for customizing its appearance and layout.
- Theme / Skin Selection — Selects an available VDM theme or skin.
- Show/Hide Dropdown — Controls which Quick Launch Buttons are displayed and can be used to move the toolbar below the ribbon.
Tips
- Customize the Quick Launch area to keep your most frequently used tools readily available.
- Use View SQL Query when reviewing or troubleshooting the SQL generated by a View.
- Configure the Scheduler before using Scheduler Setup for automated View execution.
