In this article we provide information on enabling and disabling the "Restrict to List" setting on a parameter.

Where to Enable Restrict to List?

The "Restrict to List" setting is located in the Parameters section of VDM. After adding & selecting a parameter, this option becomes can be found under the Data section within the parameter's properties.

Why Enable Restrict to List?

The "Restrict to List" setting will ensure that new/manual values are not added into the parameter. By default, this feature is disabled (set to False) on any new parameter.

Steps to Use / Enable / Disable Restrict to List.

Important Note: The "Restrict to List" setting only applies to parameters of the "IN" / "IN No Paranthesis" type.

1. Open VDM and your view.

2. Click on Parameters, then add a parameter.

3. Select your parameter, then enable / disable the "Restrict to List" setting as needed.
