Article Goal
Learn how to create a basic chart in Visualize using the Chart element, including assigning values and arguments, editing names, and applying formatting options.
What Is a Chart?
A Chart in Visualize transforms your data into a visual format, helping you quickly spot trends, compare categories, and communicate results more effectively than raw tables alone.
Use Case: For example, you can drag Service Date into Values and Client into Arguments to compare service date totals across clients in seconds.
Why Create a Chart in Visualize?
Provides a clear visual summary of numerical or categorical data
Helps identify patterns, trends, or outliers at a glance
Allows interactive exploration of key metrics
Note: Charts become more useful when you apply formatting—such as axis titles, number formatting, and separators—to improve readability for larger datasets.
Where Are Visualize Charts Created?
Charts are created inside the Visualize Designer in VDM. From here, you can add a Chart element, map data fields, and adjust design settings.

Article Summary
Creating a chart in Visualize allows you to quickly turn data into meaningful visuals. By assigning fields for values and arguments, editing chart names, and applying formatting, you can create clear and interactive charts such as Client Services. This makes it easy to identify performance trends and patterns without sorting through raw data.
Use Case: A manager can build a chart to compare the amount of service dates by client, helping them spot high-performing staff and potential inefficiencies.

This is Nick at Finvi. Is there a way to create a trendline for a Point / Line type Chart in Visualize?
