Release Date: May 12, 2026
Important Note: We strongly recommend testing this update in a non-production (test) environment before deploying to production.
System Requirement: The system hosting WebReports must have the ASP.NET Core Runtime 10 Hosting Bundle installed. Click Download to install the latest version. It is recommended to review the latest WebReports system requirements to ensure there have been no recent changes.
What’s New & Improved
These updates enhance WebReports logging to improve visibility and reliability. Bridgit Chat activity is now fully captured within the existing logging system, centralizing events for easier monitoring and troubleshooting. Additionally, startup logging has been improved to detect and report invalid JSON configurations, providing clearer diagnostics and reducing debugging time.
Add Bridgit Logging (Task 1893)
This enhancement introduces logging capabilities within WebReports to capture Bridgit-related activity and events, improving visibility into Bridgit Chat interactions for better monitoring, troubleshooting, and validation.
WebReports now records Bridgit Chat activity directly within its existing logging framework, ensuring all relevant events are captured and centralized alongside other system logs for consistency and easier access.
Enhanced Logging for Invalid JSON Configurations (Task 1899)
Improved WebReports startup reliability by adding detailed logging for invalid JSON configuration files (e.g., appsettings.json). Previously, malformed or incorrect JSON could cause startup failures without clear error messages, making troubleshooting difficult.
With this enhancement, the system now detects and logs issues such as malformed JSON, invalid or unescaped characters, and empty or improperly formatted files during startup. Errors are captured and written to accessible locations, including Docker logs, application logs (/app/App_Data/Logs/StartupLog.txt), and system logs.
This update provides clearer diagnostics, reduces troubleshooting time, and improves overall application stability and transparency.
Bug Fixes
This release also includes the following fixes and usability improvements:
-
Filter menu hover color in dark mode (Bug 1890)
In WebReports, an issue was resolved where filter menu options could be difficult to read in dark mode because hovering over an option could make the text or background too dark. The filter menu hover state has been updated so hovered items remain white with a visible highlight, improving readability and visibility for users working in dark mode. -
WebReports Select Reports Filter Retains Previously Entered Text (Bug 1898)
In WebReports, the Add Report Assignment section has been updated so that after a report is selected, the search/filter field automatically clears and the report list resets. Previously, the filter could retain the prior search text after a report was selected, leaving the list filtered and making it harder to add additional reports. This update allows users to continue selecting reports without manually deleting the previous search text. -
Date Picker Month and Year Display Obscured in Visualize Reports (1904)
An issue was identified in the Visualize Reports feature where the date picker did not clearly display the month and year when using Light Mode, making it difficult for users to accurately navigate and select dates due to poor visibility and contrast. This could lead to confusion or incorrect date selection. The issue has been resolved, and the date picker now properly displays the month and year with clear readability, ensuring a consistent and user-friendly experience in Light Mode.
