Learn how to update the display name of a Finished Report in VDM when working with duplicated views or template-based reports.

Why Change the Display Name?

When copying a view to use it as a template for a new report, the Finished Report may still show the old view name in the Designer's title bar and header. This can lead to confusion if multiple reports are generated from the same original view.

Use Case:
You copied a view with an existing Finished Report, renamed the view for a new account group, but the Finished Report still shows the old view’s name in the header. Updating the Display Name resolves this.

Steps to Change a Finished Report’s Display Name

Step 1: Select the XtraReport

• Open the Finished Report Designer.

• Click inside the green background area (outside any bands).

• Or, locate and select the XtraReport object in the Report Explorer.
  (Usually listed at the bottom of the hierarchy.)

Step 2: Open Miscellaneous Properties

• With XtraReport selected, look to the Properties panel.

• Click on the Wrench icon to open the Miscellaneous category.

• Search for Display Name in the search bar.

Step 3: Modify the Display Name

• Find the Display Name field in the Miscellaneous section.

• Enter the new name you want to use for the report.

• Press Enter to confirm the change.
