Changing a Finished Report’s Display Name in VDM

When a View with an existing Finished Report is copied or reused as a template, the Finished Report may continue to display the original report name.

You can update the Display Name in the Finished Reports Designer so the report name matches the current View or reporting purpose.

Change the Display Name

1. Open the View and launch the Finished Reports Designer.
2. Select the top-level XtraReport object.
   • You can select XtraReport from the Report Explorer.
   • You can also click the report background outside the report bands.

3. In the Properties panel, locate the report properties.
4. Search for Display Name.
5. Enter the new report name in the Display Name field.
6. Press Enter to apply the change.
7. Save the Finished Report.

When to Update the Display Name

Updating the Display Name is useful when:

• A View has been copied and renamed
• An existing Finished Report is being reused as a template
• Multiple reports were created from the same original View
• The report name shown in the Designer no longer matches the current report

Updating the Display Name helps make the report easier to identify while designing and managing Finished Reports.
