What Is “Save Encrypted”?
The Save Encrypted button in VDM lets you protect a view by linking it to a specific Company ID. This means:
-
Only users with the matching Company ID can open the view.
-
The view is saved with a .vdme file extension.

Steps To Save Encrypted Views
1. Open or Create a View: Start by opening an existing View or creating a new one in VDM.
2. Click “Save Encrypted”: Go to the Home section in VDM’s ribbon bar and click the Save Encrypted button.
3. Enter a Company ID: A prompt will appear. Type the Company ID for the users who should be allowed to access the View, then click OK.
4. Confirm the Company ID is Set: You can confirm the View is encrypted by trying to open it again. It should only work for users with the correct Company ID.
💡 Note: Encrypted views are saved as .vdme files
If someone without the valid Company ID tries to open the View, they will receive a message saying access is denied.
