Article Goal: Set up Filter String in Finished Reports
In this article we are going to cover the steps needed to add a filter string to your report inside the FInished Reports Designer.
Why Use Filter Strings?
Use the FilterString property to create a filter expression that consists of multiple conditions applied to the dataset. When you set the FilterString, this will be a separate filter and only applies to the Finished Report.
Where Do You Set Up The Filter String?
The filter string can be set in the report properties or by clicking on the Report Tasks button at the top left of the Finished Report Designer.

Steps To Use Filter String.
Note: The Filter String only applies to the Finished Report.
1. Open or create a view.
2. Click the Finished Reports Designer on VDM's main screen.
3. Click on the the Report Tasks button at the top left of the Finished Report Designer or in the XtraReport Report properties.
4. Create your filter criteria for the report's Filter String, then click OK.
5. Save the Finished Report and click Run View to verify you are getting the expected results.
