In this article we provide information on setting up the Default Connection within VDM.
Why Use Special Character Support?
Special Character Support is an optional Setting that enables VDM to place quotes " " or brackets [ ] around all table and field names. This is required for some database when the SQL syntax is passed to the database.
If your database requires special character support, setting the Special Character Support property to True will force double quotes around every table and field by default. When the Use Brackets property is set to True the quotes will be replaced with brackets for all tables and fields.
InterSystems Database Users: Enabling Special Character Support will result in no Tables and Fields being visible for your InterSystems Connection(s). If you are unable to see your Tables and Fields for your InterSystems database, confirm the Special Character Support property is False.
Where Can You Set a Default Connection?
You can change the Special Character Support options in VDM's Settings.
