Formatting the X and Y Axis Values

In this article we cover the steps of Formatting the X and Y axis values on a chart in the Finished Reports Designer.

Steps to Formatting the X and Y Axis Values.
1. Open and run your View.
2. Go into the Finished Report Designer.
3. Edit your chart / run the charting designer.
4. Select your series, then select the X or Y axis.
5. Expand the Label properties and then open the Text Pattern / Pattern Editor.
Alternate Configuration - Pie Chart: When formatting the values for a pie chart, select the values, then select the Text Pattern Editor under the behavior section.
6. Double click on the Value placeholder.
7. Click INSIDE the brace AFTER the V, then select the Type of format you are looking for from the drop down, then click on the different formats to see the preview at the bottom-middle section of the editor. Once you have the desired format, double click on the format. You should then see the format be entered after the V and update the pattern.
Standard Pattern Format: {V:YourFormatHere} - Replace the YourFormatHere with your format.
Once done, click OK and the formatting will be applied to your X / Y axis.
Note: Repeat steps 4-7 to format the X or Y axis as well if needed.
8. Preview the chart and confirm the desired output is produced.
