In this article we cover the group/report summaries and how to group inside VDM's Detail Grid.

Why Use Grid Summaries?

Grid summaries will allow you to create a quick group/report level summary on the detail level of the view. This can be useful for anyone working with the basic level of detail when running the view versus creating a Finished Report.

Where Can You Use Grid Summaries?

The summaries can be set in the Detail and Summary grids inside VDM.

Grid Usage

Column Grouping: To group your data on a field/column, drag and drop the selected column to the Data Grid Header.

Group Summaries: To add a Group Summary, right click on the Group Summary bar and select the appropriate summary option.

Data Grid Summaries: To add a data grid summary (report sum), right click on the Data Grid’s footer and select the appropriate summary option.
